The preparation of initial data is reduced to the choice of the type of cam mechanism, the assignment of some auxiliary parameters, including geometric ones, as well as information on materials and the type of the law of motion.

The law of motion can be specified in one of the following forms:

• travel schedule;
• a graph that determines the change in speed by the angle of rotation of the cam;
• a graph that determines the change in acceleration by the angle of rotation of the cam.

To enter graphical information, the module has a special tool with which you can set the graph of a function in the form of a spline or as a set of linear segments and any combination of them. The motion function defined in this way can be edited if necessary.

Input of analytical functions and information from a file is provided. For the analytical assignment of functions, there is an editor for processing analytical expressions.
